The Rosebud truly an innovative musical instrument.

The CB Alyn Rosebud model like most true innovations, is based on the deceptively simple concept of combining the best elements of existing traditions. The one piece body is 80% hollow made of Brazilian Mahogany or Vermont maple.

The top, like that of most hand-crafted acoustics, is solid AAA grade spruce from centuries old Alaskan Sitka or Englemann trees. The hard maple neck, available with ebony or rosewood fingerboard, is finished with 22 medium -- jumbo frets and a 15” radius.

CB Alyn guitars have a specially designed neck to nut relationship which keeps the E strings in the playable area of the neck, instead of sliding off during an "inspired solo" . Every one of our guitars is set up at the factory to play effortlessly. With an incredibly detailed fret job and action that is less than 3/32th of an inch at the last fret, these may be the best playing acoustic guitars in the world. Another important, but seldom realized, factor determining the sound quality and sustain of an instrument is the neck to body joint.

Our neck to body joints are machined to such exacting tolerances that they almost become one piece of wood. However, two different types of wood for neck and body produce a better sounding instrument. The body can be made of richer tone producing woods, while the neck is made of hardier woods.

We individually match bodies and necks before they are painted. After the body is painted, the neck joint is again checked for a perfect fit, and any residual paint is removed from the neck pocket for a perfect wood to wood connection.

We've chosen to join our necks and bodies with the stainless steel bolt on type of construction because this creates a "constant pressure" union for outstanding sustain and tone, yet allows replacement of the neck should that be desirable.

The Rosebud ™ RB50N is the nylon/classical guitar for string steel players. It combines a thinner and narrower neck 2.0”, a slightly curved fingerboard and complete access to all 22 frets making it far more friendly to players accustomed to steel string guitars. The soundboard uses a modification of our patent pending bracing system to make it more responsive and livelier than traditional classical guitars.

The Rosebud’s ™ innovative and patent pending top bracing system provides for even tonal balance and surprisingly rich acoustic response. Our conductive film pickup delivers stunningly accurate reproduction through a conveniently placed volume control, as well as the unprecedented tonal flexibility of a proprietary 2-band active EQ. This system is versatile enough to contour any tone you can imagine. You’ll find new tones and textures you never could find on any other instrument.
